Autumn is a wonderful dog who is seeking her forever home. She is curious but cautious of new people, but those who give her time and patience (and treats!) win her over quickly, and are rewarded with her loving and affectionate nature. She is more wary of men in general, and these introductions require a bit more patience and time. She has lived with teenagers and did well with a dog-savvy younger kid who visited. Autumn absolutely loves other dogs, and regularly socializes at daycare twice a week, with her foster dog brother, and with neighborhood playgroups. She is typically the star of the playgroup, adapting her play style to bring shy dogs out of their shell but also keeping pace with the other young dogs. Her ideal home would have at least one other dog who also enjoys playing; a slower senior or tiny dog who is more sensitive may not be a great fit because of her playfulness. Autumn walks well on a leash, but can be nervous in chaotic or loud environments. Having another dog buddy to walk with her helps, and she enjoys more quiet trail hikes or walks. Her ideal home would have a fenced yard. Autumn is currently being fostered with another young dog and two cats, and she fit in seamlessly with her foster siblings. She gets along wonderfully with her foster dog brother - they snuggle and play together, and very much enjoy each other’s company. She is respectful of the cats, and doesn’t chase or bother them. Autumn does well with grooming, including brushing, nail trims, and baths. She is crate trained, but also does well when left outside of the crate. She rides well in the car, especially with another dog, and is overall a fairly quiet dog (doesn’t bark much). Autumn is an absolute gem of a dog. Given patience and time, she will quickly become your loving and loyal friend.
